"In my paintings, I pull from extremes; bold and soft, saturated and muted colors, movement and stillness. The images fade among positive and negative spaces. It is between these two extremes that I find a special place where the abstract and the real meeting. By simplifying selected details, I strive to give an impression of the entire atmosphere of a given scene, not just its separate elements. This hopefully stirs an emotionally visceral response that stays with the viewer, encouraging them to see the world around them in a new way."

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, KC Collins began creating art at a very young age. During the early part of her academic career at Elon University, she decided to pursue her passion for art and explored many different media, eventually falling in love with oils. KC continued to study fine art, drawing influences from JMW
Turner and Gerhard Richter.
