The Beckoning Backcountry, 2025 Framed archival pigment print 80 x 120 x 4 cmThis work captures the concept of the psychological fog of depression through a distant wilderness. Layered, scorched foreground branches represent intrusive thoughts, while chaotic dry-brush textures mimic a mind at war, creating cognitive static. Through this veil, a beckoning yet inaccessible landscape of mist-shrouded eucalyptus dissolves into the distance. Together, these elements visualise the isolation—feeling present but trapped behind a suffocating mental screen.
