My process is to work intuitively in an improvisational manner. Play is a key element to the way I paint. The characters in ‘Jamming with Friends’ emerge from my imagination. To me the composition suggests these figures are on a stage performing to an audience, I have drawn back into the surface my scratching the surface which conjures up the movement from the accordion playing man. I used blue to calm the busy composition. A small painting full of positive energy!
