'Die Kanister' is a trio of slab-constructed ceramic containers that draws from the timeless elegance of colonial German craft and design in South Australia. The facets and coiled accents echo the austere style prevalent in Biedermeier-era timber furniture and storage vessels. The pieces were decorated with unique combinations of layered glazes and engobes. Each piece has been reduction-fired in a gas kiln to expose the iron in the clay, adding depth and richness to the glazed surfaces.
