The starting point for this intaglio print was an image I took in the rainforest at the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra. I created a black background using digital software before translating the image into an etched photopolymer plate. The etched plate was inked ‘intaglio’ with Charbonnel Carbone Black oil-based ink. Using the Chine Collé technique I transferred the ink from the etched plate into pigment inkjet printed and dampened Kozo paper supported on Hahnemühle paper.
