Bloodlines (Kanamaluka) is my attempt to understand my Aboriginal ancestry in relation to Tasmania’s colonial history. Using transformed satellite imagery*, I reworked the Kanamaluka estuary and Launceston into a darkened photographic field where black earth suggests settlement and sovereignty, while the red estuary evokes my Aboriginal bloodline, spilled blood, survival and connection.
