The 'Graphite Profile' drawings are composed of repeated lines. To make these works, I create templates from the profile of rock faces, in this instance near Sydney Harbour. I trace the templated profiles over and over, using my breath as a metronome. The 'Graphite Profile' works are a meditation on geological time, the millennia it takes to form graphite, the metre of my body via my breath and the suspended moment I experience while I draw. They are a way of sitting with time.
