The ubiquitous nature of the vessel and its humanness with its neck, body and foot, means it opens up an immediate dialogue with the viewer, who can then focus on the contemporary content or story within it.

Most cultures have used vessels as icons or symbols on their historical journey, and I choose to work within this tradition.

'Elements' is then a canvas or setting, where layers of clay, glazes and the imprint of the human touch, the fingermark, are used to convey these narratives.
