Through the composition of simple forms, and with contrasting glaze textures and colours, this work aims to create a paradoxical sense of familiarity and strangeness. Ever visible, the sphere, when composed in certain ways, conjures up vaguely recognisable images of nature, mechanics, science, astronomy and more. With this piece, I intend for the viewer to have just enough information for their imagination to fill in the gaps and for their attention to be drawn to the familiar nothing.
